Some days you have it, others you don’t. Thanks to delayed muscle soreness, my legs were feeling worse today than yesterday. Plus, it was rainy and in the mid-50s. Yuck! Why am I complaining? I guess that I’ve gotten too acclimated to San Diego. Anyway, I decided to try a new route today and do some exploring. I needed to go easier. Well, I picked the wrong route on the wrong day.
I decided to try the regular Swami’s cycling club route that goes through the Elfin Forest. I guess it’s one of their regular rides. OK, I’m thinking Sheridan Road in Chicago. Ha! High traffic areas, then twisty semi-rural roads with no shoulder, than some pretty decent descents. Yep, the wrong thing for an “easy” day.
In all fairness, I could see this being an awesome route, especially when it’s dry and early in the morning. Let’s just say the traffic and weather got to me. Oh, well, it was a beautiful ride and made me long for rural WI roads. Hope my legs are feeling better tomorrow.
