With temperatures along the lake around 40 degrees F, I didn’t really want to bundle up like an eskimo to go for a 2 hour ride. Looking at area temperatures, it was in the low-50s in the western suburbs despite being overcast. Not having to wear shoe covers or several layers sounded rather inviting. The question was where to ride. I did some searching on the web and constructed a 40 mile loop around Waterfall Glen.
This turned out to be a nice ride, but it got cold towards the end. Not a lot of traffic, some good climbs, and in areas with which I was somewhat familiar. I had been sick the previous 2 days and didn’t know how I would ride. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I ridden tempo yet didn’t feel too spent.
Now if I could just get the weather to cooperate…
