So Much for Climbing!

Those reading this from the Midwest might laugh, but I ended up riding along the PCH today because my legs were too sore from riding the indoor trainer yesterday. Yes, even though it was in the 60s yesterday, I did intervals on the Computrainer. I wanted to get decent threshold intervals in, and knew the Computrainer would be my best option. I hadn’t ridden indoors in over a year, so it was weird. I rode in my garage with the doors open to stay cool. I wasn’t too worried about my neighbors thinking I was nuts, since they already think I’m from another planet… 😀

I had originally wanted to ride Santiago Peak for the first time (aka, climbing to 5000+ feet), but decided riding along the Pacific Ocean was smarter. This was my first time riding up to Seal Beach. It totally reminded me of Chicago. OK, temps were in the upper-50s in January and the waves were higher, but the wind was strong. Just like riding along Lake Michigan! It was weird seeing huge waves and oil drilling rigs though. A nice ride, but I probably pushed it more than I should have. I could feel the old days of biking along Lake Michigan in my blood. OK, I can’t complain, it’s January and I’m able to bike outdoors in short sleeves!
