A Great Race at the Great Park, That I Thought Wouldn’t Be So Great…

Great Park 20K TT
July 5, 2012 – Irvine, CA
Cat 4/5 – 1st – 23:49:00
282 watts – 26.2 MPH

Yep. It was one of those days. I was running late for the race and almost no time to change and get warmed up. Plus, I was upset at myself for taking the corners so easy. When I got home and saw my power values, I was a little happier. Once I saw the results of the race, I was very happy.

The second Great Park TT of the year had good weather. Not too hot and the wind wasn’t too strong. I thought most folks would be smoking on the course. I think nearly everyone turned out a good time, since any wind on this course can make things tough mentally. I know I was slower than my time back in April, but conditions were better than.

I really need to work on my cornering, since I know I could have gone faster. Oh, well, I was happy to wear my SoCal TT series skinsuit with pride, especially for my 7th win of the year.

Thanks to DK Thomas for great photos at the race!
