Wyalusing Roller Coaster

My second ride of the weekend near Prairie du Chien, WI. It was freezing yesterday, but in the mid-50s today. I forgot how hilly it was around the Mississippi River Valley. In the nearly 10 years that my dad has lived there, I have come to love Wyalusing State Park. I can see why the Native Americans made this a burial ground. I had a lot of fun on descents and the climbing was a challenge. It’s amazing how you can have normal WI farmland right next to the greatest river on Earth. I really like this route that I came up with up. Here’s my description from Everytrail.com:

A beautiful fall ride from Wyalusing State Park. Temps were in the mid-50s with partly cloudy skies. The only downside was a brisk SE wind, which wasn’t much fun with the hills. I forgot how hilly SW Wisconsin can be for riding, especially near the Mississippi. I had a fun descent out of the park. Got to see some river barges, then climbed out of the valley. I thought it would be flat on top, but it was “rolling” farmland. It was easy to hit around 40 MPH on some of these short descents. I really liked this route, because there was little traffic on a Sunday morning.
